Fancypants and Lifeworks, Inc. Partnership

July 27, 2015

Fancypants Baking Co. is excited to announce that we have expanded our partnership with LifeWorks, a non-profit organization that provides education, jobs and homes for persons with developmental disabilities. Lifeworks matches the right person with the right job, based on skills, talents, abilities, and the specific needs of employers.

It has been about 7 years since our relationship with Lifeworks began. Fancypants founder Maura, who spent years working at the Perkins School for the Blind with children with developmental disabilities, wanted to partner with a community organization that provided vocational opportunities for adults with disabilities. Fancypants began working with Lifeworks who trained their employees to apply labels to our cookie containers. They’ve done an excellent job, labeling thousands of containers and bags since then!

This summer, we are gearing up to begin working with two new retailers. (More on who and where coming soon!). We’re so excited that many more of you are going to be able to find our cookies at stores near you. But, we’re even MORE excited to have the opportunity to do something that we have wanted to do for a long time: expand the Lifeworks role within our company. We have hired 6 Lifeworks employees who will be assisting our packaging department; every day they will come to our bakery in Walpole to package, sort and seal cookies. Training started last week, and each new employee dove right in. It was great to see the easy collaboration between Fancypants employees and their new co-workers! Lifeworks strives to provide local businesses with reliable, competent, efficient, cost-effective workers and they have provided just that!

Stay tuned for updates on new projects, products, and our relationship with Lifeworks!

Cheers,

Steve
